Warner Bros. Discovery & Reliance Games to support UN Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Tide Turners Plastic Challenge.

Mumbai, June 05, 2023: In commemoration of World Environment Day, Reliance Games is proud to announce a unique initiative aimed at raising awareness about the hazards of plastic among children and youth. Building upon the tremendous success of last year’s campaign, which reached 1.5 million youth and encouraged them to collect an impressive 250 million virtual plastic bottles, the studio is expanding its efforts to support the UN Environment Programme’s (UNEP) Tide Turners Plastic Challenge for World Environment Day.

This global initiative engages youth in addressing the urgent issue of plastic pollution, which poses a threat to life in oceans, rivers, and land. Notably, Reliance Games will incorporate the issue of plastic pollution into its popular game, Little Singham, and introduce a brand-new game, Little Singham Cycle Race, both designed to educate and entertain players.

POGO’s Little Singham, one of India’s leading animated IPs, with its unique and quirky storylines, has been engaging, inspiring, and captivating millions of kids across the country since its launch. The show’s growing animated universe and the new range of games extend the fun and frolic to a wider audience sphere. As part of that, Reliance Games expands its program with two of its fan-favourite titles, Little Singham and Little Singham Cycle Race, boasting an impressive 75 million downloads. These games embark on a new campaign to educate players about the detrimental impact of plastic pollution.

The in-game activation is part of Reliance Games’ support of Playing for the Planet (www.playing4theplanet.org), an initiative facilitated by UNEP which works with the games industry to decarbonize the industry and test green activations in games.

Through inventive gameplay mechanics, players actively collect virtual plastic bottles and prohibited plastic items, reinforcing the significance of reducing, reusing, and recycling plastics. Both games prominently feature the World Environment Day “Only One Earth” logo, underscoring their commitment to global environmental preservation.

The Tide Turners youth program, backed by the worldwide Scout and Girl Guide movement, engages an impressive count of 500,000 youth across more than 30 countries.

Charles Enterprises is a fascinating depiction of Ravi Kumaraswamy’s life, a young man from Kochi suffering from night blindness, a congenital disability. Ravi steals a Ganesha idol from his mother, Gomathi, a profound devotee, and later tries to overcome the ensuing crises and reclaim his life, which becomes more difficult due to the social situation thoroughly affected by the pandemic.

RELIANCE ANIMATION ESTABLISHES FOOTPRINT IN INTERNATIONAL GEOGRAPHY WITH ITS SHOW ‘SAMMY & RAJ’ FOR NICKELODEON US

Mumbai, March 15, 2023: Since 2018, Reliance Animation has successfully delivered over 18,000 minutes of animation content across 1,500+ episodes for shows such as ‘Sammy & Raj’, ‘Little Singham’, ‘Golmaal Jr.’, ‘Smashing Simmba’, ‘Bhaiyyaji Balwan’, among others.

Reliance Animation is the production partner for ‘Sammy & Raj’, one of Nickelodeon International & Nickelodeon India’s first ever children’s series with cross-border cultural mix. The 20-episode comedy follows the misadventures of a pair of cousins who have access to a time-altering program and can pause, rewind, fast-forward, and slow-motion their way through a variety of situations. The animated series was released first in the United Kingdom, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East and will be eventually released in India. Reliance produced the show using the Harmony software platform, which is well known in the international markets.

Reliance Animation is the first production house to get Bollywood IPs into to animation, by partnering with Rohit Shetty, director of the blockbuster Super Cop franchise Singham’ & comedy franchise ‘Golmaal’.

 ‘Little Singham’, inspired by the blockbuster film ‘Singham’, launched on 24th April 2018, and within a short span of time, started ruling the hearts of kids across India and bagged the Best Bollywood Inspired IP at the ANN Awards 2022 (AnimatioN Network Awards). With over 580 episodes and 20 telefilms in both 2D & 3D, the show aired on Discovery Kids, which jumped to the no. 2 spot in BARC ratings (Broadcast Audience Research Council) within the first week of ‘Little Singham’s release. The show recently moved to Pogo and is also streaming on Netflix in Hindi, English and Tamil.

Golmaal Jr., the second IP by Reliance Animation in collaboration with Rohit Shetty, was launched on 13th May 2019 and airs on Nickelodeon in Hindi & English with over 320 episodes. In a couple of weeks after its launch ‘Golmaal Jr.’ was rated no. 1 show in BARC ahead of ‘Motu Patlu’ which had been ruling the top spot for last couple of years.

‘Smashing Simmba’, based on the second character of the Rohit Shetty Super Cop franchise, released on 14th Nov 2020 and has clocked over 180 episodes. The animated show first aired on Pogo in Nov 2020 and recently started streaming on Discovery Kids from January 2023. In the week of its release on Pogo, ‘Smashing Simmba’ was rated the no. 1 show on the channel and the no. 3 show across Pogo’s kids’ category in urban India. This show was also awarded as the Best Remotely Produced Content at ANN Awards 2022.

Bhaiyyaji Balwan’ is one of Reliance Animation’s successful home-grown IPs currently showing on the Disney Kids Network. The team successfully completed delivery of 104 episodes within a span of 12 months. This series offers wholesome entertainment with relatable characters in everyday stories and is ranked no. 5 amongst all series in the Kids Genre during the first 4 weeks post launch.

Pandeyji Pehelwan’ is another home-grown IP by Reliance Animation which is sold to a large regional broadcaster, ETV, as part of the launch of their Kids’ channel ETV Bal Bharat in April 2021. The team has delivered over 50 episodes so far.

Business Combination

On October 22, 2022, IMAC entered into a Stock Purchase Agreement (the “SPA”) with the Seller, and the Target Company. Pursuant to the terms of the SPA, a business combination between IMAC and the Target Company will be effected by the acquisition of 100% of the issued and outstanding share capital of the Target Company from Seller in a series of transactions.

Ashoka K. S., the director of ‘Sari’, talks about his experiences and the interesting plot of the movie. He says, “I directed a Marathi film for the first time and  it was fun working in Marathi. Marathi artists are very talented. Talking about the movie, it is a love story. Ashoka K. S. is well-known for directing his first found footage kannada horror flick 6-5=2 in 2013 and the film was remade in Hindi with the same title in 2014. Dia, his second film, was both critically acclaimed and commercially successful as well.

This heart touching love drama features Ajinkya Raut, Ritika Shrotri, Prithvi Amber and Mrinal Kulkarni in lead roles. Presented by Canrus Productions, produced by Dr. Suresh Nagpal and Akash Nagpal, the film is written, edited and directed by Ashoka K. S.

CEPL AND RELIANCE ENTERTAINMENT TO RELEASE ‘SATURDAY AFTERNOON’, A FILM DIRECTED BY MOSTOFA SARWAR FAROOKI, IN USA AND CANADA ON 10TH MARCH

Mumbai, Feb 21, 2023: ‘Saturday Afternoon’, a film directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, will be released in USA & CANADA on 10th March 2023. The Global distribution rights of the film have been acquired by CEPL and released through Reliance Entertainment. The intensely shot one-take film was completed in 2018, and will be screened for the audiences in North America before its official release in its home country, Bangladesh. It will also be released in other countries across the globe in subsequent months.

Commenting on the film finally being released, Director, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, states, “I am glad the film is finally going to be seen by wider audience. The movie is very important for people in my country to see, and I wished it would be released in Bangladesh first, but never the less I’m glad that it will be seen by people all over the world, starting with USA & Canada. I invite the audience to come and experience the film in theatres!”

The film is about an unprecedented terrorist attack that takes place in a peaceful café in the center of Dhaka, capital of Bangladesh, on a nice Saturday afternoon. The film unravels the clashes and contradictions of religion, ideology, and civilizations through a terror drama shot in a single take in that Dhaka café which acts as a miniature of the conflicted world we live in.

Mostofa Sarwar Farooki is a Bangladeshi film writer, director, and producer with a number of critically acclaimed films to his credit. His films have represented Bangladesh at the Oscars three times.
