Mumbai, January 28th, 2020: Reliance Entertainment and Amblin Partners’ 1917, directed by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes has shown stellar results at the box office worldwide. The ‘one continuous shot’ war thriller, inspired by the Director’s grandfather’s stories, is a major success at the box office, in addition to receiving all round critical acclaim.

Starting out at the No. 1 slot at the US box office in its wide opening weekend, the film has now grossed over US$ 200 million worldwide in theatrical sales and is still dominating cinemas.

1917 has also been on an incredible award-winning spree at every major event besides the 10 Oscar nominations, including ‘Best Picture’ and ‘Best Director,’ for the forthcoming 92nd Academy Awards, and 9 nominations for the BAFTA awards. The prestigious BAFTA and Oscar ceremonies are scheduled to be held on 2nd and 9^th February 2020 in London and Los Angeles respectively.

‘1917’ has won 3 Awards at the Critics Choice Awards 2020 for ‘Best Director’, ‘Best Cinematographer’ and ‘Best Editing’. The film is also the 77th Golden Globes winner in the Best Picture-Drama category, and was honored with the Best Director’s award for Sam Mendes.

Adding to the accolades, Sam Mendes has won ‘Best Feature Film’ at Directors Guild of America Awards recently. The film also won ‘Best Picture’ at the Producers Guild of America Awards, and Roger Deakins won ‘Top Feature Award’ from the American Society of Cinematographers for his spectacular work in ‘1917.’

DreamWorks Pictures and Reliance Entertainment present, in association with New Republic Pictures, a Neal Street production, produced in association with Mogambo, Sam Mendes film: 1917, starring George MacKay, Dean-Charles Chapman, with Colin Firth and Benedict Cumberbatch. ‘1917’ is directed by Sam Mendes. A Reliance Entertainment release in India, the film is still running in theatres.

Kamal Haasan and Nagarjuna to present 83’s Tamil & Telugu Versions respectively

Mumbai, January 23, 2020: Kamal Haasan’s Raajkamal Films International and Akkineni Nagarjuna’s Annapurna Studios join hands with Reliance Entertainment to present the Tamil and Telugu versions respectively of the much-awaited film, ‘83’.

Kamal Haasan and Nagarjuna are both well-celebrated and multi-faceted personalities and legends of the Indian showbiz. The movies launched by their production and distribution companies have always been special and well acclaimed.

Happy to be a part of 83, Kamal Haasan shares, “I am extremely excited to present the Tamil Version of 83. It’s a matter of pride to promote the film that will recreate the moments of the iconic matches. Not just that, the victory of the Indian team demonstrates to every Indian that where there is a will, there is a way. Deepika Padukone will be seen playing Romi, Kapil Dev’s wife.

The film is also the 77^th Golden Globes winner in the Best Picture-Drama categoryandwas also honored with the Best Director’s award for Sam Mendes.

Sam Mendes wins Best Director for ‘1917’ at the prestigious ceremony

Reliance Entertainment will release 1917 in India on 17th January, 2020.

Mumbai, January 6th, 2020: Reliance Entertainment is all set to release the 77th Golden Globes winner in the Best Picture – Drama category, ‘1917’, on January 17, 2020, in India. ‘1917’ was also honored with the Golden Globes award for Best Director for Sam Mendes.

‘1917’ is a World War-I drama that has won the hearts of critics and audiences with Mendes’ technically woven masterpiece involving British soldiers played by George Mackay & Dean-Charles Chapman.

Sam Mendes’ ‘1917’, inspired by his grandfather’s stories, has been applauded and appreciated by audiences during the first week of the limited release in the US. Sam’s vision of a smoothly stitched ‘one-take shot’ cinematic approach has already led to a flood of awards and nominations from the very beginning of the 2020 awards season.

While accepting the award at the glittering Golden Globes ceremony last night, Mendes said, ‘’This is a huge, huge thing for this movie. It opens in a week wide.” He continued, “It is difficult to make movies without big movie stars in the leads, and get people to come and see it in a cinema, and I really hope this means people will turn up and see it on the big screen, for which it was intended.”

Last year, Reliance Entertainment and Amblin Partners’ film, ‘Green Book’ was honored with the Golden Globes award for Best Picture – Musical or Comedy.
