BIG Pictures’ ‘Mera Pind – My Home’ Sees The Biggest Ever Opening For A Punjabi Film In Punjab And Overseas

BIG Pictures’ and Punj-aab Movies International’s latest film ‘Mera Pind My Home’ is all set to beat records. The film opened to packed houses in Punjab and grossed INR 57,95,533 in the opening weekend alone. In India, the film got released in 44 screens (22 prints and 22 digital). Overseas, the film opened at an astounding ₹72,000 in the UK, $177,000 in US and Canada, AUD $42,419 in Australia and NZ $4,400 in New Zealand. The film released overseas with 56 prints across UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Germany.

‘Mera Pind-My Home’ follows closely on the success of Manmohan Singh and BIG Pictures’ last Punjabi release, ‘Mitti Wajaan Mardi’. Incidentally the last highest grossing Punjabi film released in the UK was also Manmohan Singh’s ‘Dil Apna Punjabi’ which grossed ₹258,000. The Director, also has to his credit super hit films – ‘Asa Nu Maan Watna Da’, ‘J’ee Aaayaan Nu’, and ‘Yaaran Naal Baharaan’.
