‘SHERDIL: THE PILIBHIT SAGA’ PRODUCED BY T-SERIES, RELIANCE ENTERTAINMENT AND DIRECTED BY NATIONAL AWARD WINNING DIRECTOR, SRIJIT MUKHERJI, SET FOR A JUNE 24TH RELEASE

The Saga, inspired by actual events, stars Pankaj Tripathi, Neeraj Kabi and Sayani Gupta. 

Mumbai 11 May 2022: T-Series and Reliance Entertainment joined hands with Match Cut Productions  in making this dark humour laced satire titled, ‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’. The film is inspired by true  events. 

Writer & Director of this film, Srijit Mukherji, has brought forth an insightful story about the adverse  effects of urbanization, man-animal conflict and poverty leading to a bizarre practice in a village that  resides on the edge of a forest. 

Srijit Mukherji, winner of multiple National Awards, has directed critically acclaimed films like Autograph  (2010), Jaatishwar (2014), Chotushkone (2015), Rajkahini (2015), Ek Je Chilo Raja (2019) in the Bengali  language among others. ‘Sherdil – The Pilibhit Saga’ will be his second Hindi film after the 2017 period  drama, Begum Jaan. 

Not only has Srijit’s films won acclaim at Indian Film Festivals, but have also travelled to prominent  International film festivals like Palm Springs International Film Festival in California, Abu Dhabi  International Film Festival, MIAAC Film Festival in New York, Glasgow International Film Festival, London  Indian Film Festival among others.  

This being Srijit Mukherji’s dream project, he says, “I am glad to re-unite with Reliance Entertainment to  make ‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’. I got inspired by the real incident of tragic practises in villages  bordering the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve and I knew I had to capture it in my next. It takes great courage to  sacrifice one’s life to save the family and my film revolves around this heroism with a focus on man &  nature conflict. This subject is really close to my heart and I hope it will ignite the same emotions with  the audiences regarding various social issues in our society.” 

‘Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga’ is presented by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series Film and Reliance Entertainment,  produced by Bhushan Kumar and Reliance Entertainment and production by Match Cut Productions  Private Limited. The film stars Pankaj Tripathi, Neeraj Kabi, and Sayani Gupta and is directed by Srijit  Mukherji. 

The film will hit the big screens on 24th June, 2022.

ROHIT SHETTY & RELIANCE ENTERTAINMENT TO PRODUCE A BIOPIC ON THE LIFE AND STORY OF RAKESH MARIA, FORMER COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, MUMBAI

Mumbai, April 30, 2022: Rohit Shetty & Reliance Entertainment join hands again to produce a biopic on one of Mumbai’s most revered top cops and former Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, Rakesh Maria.

The biopic will be based on the experiences of his accomplished career and will be mentored by the ace filmmaker, Rohit Shetty himself.

Talking about the announcement, producer & director, Rohit Shetty said, “Rakesh Maria: The man who stared terror in the face for 36 years!! His incredible journey spans all the way from the 1993 blasts in Mumbai, the underworld menace, to the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks in 2008. Feel truly honored to be bringing this real-life super cop’s brave & fearless journey to the screen!!”

Rakesh Maria, an IPS officer, cleared his Civil Service Examination from the 1981 batch. As Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in 1993, he cracked the Bombay serial blasts case, and later moved to DCP (Crime) and then Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), of the Mumbai Police. Maria solved the 2003 Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar twin blasts case.  Maria was also given the responsibility of investigating the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008 and interrogated Ajmal Kasab, the only terrorist captured alive, and successfully investigated the case.

Reliance Entertainment teams up with Namit Sharma to form “Dreamers & Doers Co.”, a premium content studio.

Mumbai, March 28, 2022: Reliance Entertainment has announced the setting up of a new premium content studio, ‘Dreamers & Doers Co.’. The studio will bring the best stories, creators, directors and platforms together to deliver premium, exciting and new-age content to audiences. 

The studio will follow an “idea and creator first policy “and aims to provide world-class shows in a burgeoning market where the audience is constantly hungry for aspirational, exciting, high-octane entertainment. The idea is to curate a space where creators, directors, showrunners and writers feel comfortable making the best shows and films of their careers. The company is also working with leading rights holders to bring top-of-the-line scripted and unscripted international formats to India. 

Dreamers & Doers Co. is spearheaded by former ZEE TV programming head Namit Sharma, an industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience. Apart from his experience with various leading media companies like Sony Entertainment Television, Wizcraft and Yashraj Films, he has also produced well appreciated and successful digital series along with Reliance Entertainment in the last few years. Actor-Producer Vidyut Jammwal salutes intelligence officers as he kicks off the shoot for his production IB 71

Mumbai, January 13, 2022: High-octane action hero, Vidyut Jammwal’s production house,  Action Hero Films, joined forces with National Award-winning filmmaker, Sankalp Reddy for a  first-of-its-kind espionage thriller titled, IB 71. Determined to offer a great story to the audience,  our country boy has kicked off its first schedule in Mumbai. As a producer, Jammwal is  embarking on a new chapter as his company’s debut film hits the floor. 

Starring Vidyut in the role of an Intelligence Officer, IB 71 is based on a true incident of how  Indian Intelligence Officers outwitted the entire Pakistani establishment and gave our armed  forces the required advantage to face a two-front war. This compelling film is captained by  Sankalp Reddy, who has certain sensitivity towards the subject of the film having directed  Ghazi. 

Talking about the film’s first schedule, Producer-Actor Vidyut Jammwal shares, “It’s a new  beginning for my production house Action Hero Films. I’m thrilled about backing a film that  revisits a glorious chapter in history. It’s a story of the brilliance of intelligence officers, whom I  salute with all my heart. Saif Ali Khan wraps up Vikram Vedha’s second schedule in Lucknow.

Mumbai, December 30, 2021: Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Reliance Entertainment in association with Friday Filmworks & S. Sashikanth’s  YNOT Studios’ action packed thriller, Vikram Vedha has concluded its second filming schedule spanning 19 days in Lucknow with Saif Ali Khan. Saif Ali Khan shot adrenaline pumping action sequences himself. 

The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, with Radhika Apte in a crucial role. Pushkar & Gayatri, the original writers and directors, are donning the director’s hats for the Hindi remake as well.

Bhushan Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, T-Series, says, “The anticipation grows as the film shoot progresses. Hrithik and Saif on the big screen will be a sight to behold. This will undoubtedly be the most eagerly anticipated release of 2022.”

Mumbai, December 2, 2021 : Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Reliance Entertainment in  association with Friday Filmworks &S. Sashikanth’s YNOT Studios’action packed thriller,  Vikram Vedha has concluded its first filming schedule spanning 27 days in Abu Dhabi with  Hrithik Roshan.The second schedule has begun with Saif Ali Khan in Lucknow.  

The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, with Radhika Apte playing a  pivotal role. Pushkar & Gayatri, the original writers and directors, are helming the Hindi  remake too.

The original Tamil blockbuster starred R.  Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles.

Mumbai, November 29, 2021: Kichcha Sudeepa joins hands with Reliance Entertainment to present the Kannada version of the much-awaited film, ‘83’.

With an illustrious career spanning over more than 2 decades, Kichcha Sudeepa is one of the most notable stars of Indian Cinema as well as an acclaimed directorproducer, screenwriter and television host. He has won many prestigious awards namely Filmfare Awards South, SIIMA Awards, Karnataka State Film Awards, Nandi Awards and also International awards in Toronto and Madrid film festivals. Prithviraj Sukumaran, the Acclaimed Actor and National Award-Winning Filmmaker, presents 83 in Malayalam this Christmas in Cinemas

Mumbai, November 26, 2021: Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Prithviraj Productions unites with Reliance Entertainment to present the Malayalam version of the much-awaited film, ‘83’.

Indian Rupee, Raavanan, and Naam Shabana fame Prithviraj Sukumaran is one of the bright young superstars of Indian Cinema as well as an accomplished directorproducer. He has more than 100 films under his belt across genres. The films produced by his company Prithviraj Productions have been unique and have garnered several accolades. His directorial venture Lucifer is the highest grossing film of all times in Malayalam.

Glad to present the Malayalam adaptation of 83, Prithviraj Sukumaran says, “83 is an unbelievable true story of the greatest triumph of the Indian cricket team 1983. The film is produced by Deepika Padukone, Kabir Khan, Vishnu Induri, Sajid Nadiadwala, Phantom Films, Reliance Entertainment and 83 Film Ltd. 83 is directed by Kabir Khan, release slated this Christmas on 24th December 2021.

TWO OF INDIA’S TOP STUDIOS, BHUSHAN KUMAR’S T-SERIES & RELIANCE ENTERTAINMENT, COME TOGETHER TO PRODUCE A SLATE OF FILMS AT AN INVESTMENT OF OVER INR 1,000 CRS

Mumbai, September 13, 2021: In one of the Indian film industry’s biggest collaborations, T-Series & Reliance Entertainment have joined hands to produce more than 10 films together across varied genres that include big budget tentpoles as well as mid and small budget content rich films.
This giant collaboration that brings two major production houses together with an investment of approximately Rs 1000cr will bring forth films ranging through different genres, production scales, talent and music.
Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Reliance Entertainment, have worked together on the music marketing front for more than 100 films. Now for the first time both studios will collaborate to produce a slew of multiple films and a great start of a larger long-term relationship for content creation between the two organisations.
The extensive line-up of films is in various stages of development. Bejewelled with three big budgeted blockbusters the slate also features high content films headlined by some of the country’s most revered on screen and off screen talents.
More specifically the slate includes Hindi remakes of Tamil blockbuster drama and action thrillers, a mega historic biopic, espionage thriller, court room drama, satire comedy, romance drama and a film based on shocking true events, amongst others.
While T-Series is the largest music record label in India and one of the top successful film production company, Reliance Entertainment is one of the leading media and entertainment company in the country and boasts of more than 300 commercially and critically acclaimed movies in its portfolio.
In the recent years Reliance Entertainment has produced several hits under its partnerships with Rohit Shetty, Imtiaz Ali, Neeraj Pandey, Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane, Anurag Kashyap, Ribhu Dasgupta & S. Sashikant.
The new slate of film will be produced over the course of next 24 to 36 months, under the aegis of some of these partnerships and with other promising film makers like Pushkar and Gayatri, Vikramjit Singh, Mangesh Hadawale, Srijit Mukherji and Sankalp Reddy.
Given the pace of the developments, confirmed alignments with some of India’s biggest stars, four to five films will have a comfortable big screen release worldwide, starting next year-2022.

THE SUPER SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISER, ‘WE FOR INDIA’ RAISES OVER $5 MILLION FOR COVID-19 RELIEF WORK IN INDIA

 

Mumbai, August 17, 2021- The global fundraiser ‘We for India’ has raised over $5 Million for Covid-19 relief. This has been made possible with the support of the corporate partners, philanthropic foundations, and generous donors who came forward to support the India COVID Response Fund. The global fundraiser concert, which was held on 15th August in association with GiveIndia, The World We Want & Facebook saw over 100 entertainers, influencers & artistes perform and enthralled global audiences.

The fundraiser featuring leading filmmakers Steven Spielberg, Rajkumar Hirani, Kabir Khan, Karan Johar, Imtiaz Ali and Farhan Akhtar, was hosted by Rajkummar Rao. 

Indian film superstars namely Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, R. Madhavan, Vidya Balan, Sidharth Malhotra, Kartik Aaryan, Sonakshi Sinha, Prosenjit Chatterjee, Arjun Kapoor made impactful appearances in the multi-star extravaganza. 

The viewers were also left mesmerized by performances from global musical Maestro A. R. Rahman, the legendary Annie Lennox, Ed Sheeran , Sister Sledge ft Sledgendary, Nancy Ajram, Nile Rodgers and Shankar Mahadevan among other music stalwarts. 

Several interesting interactions featuring stars and film icons Saif Ali Khan, Mick Jagger, TV personality Dina Shihabi, Sara Ali Khan, Farah Khan, Vikramaditya Motwane, Ini Dima-Okojie, Parineeti Chopra also motivated the donors to contribute to this noble cause.

A dance off between Remo D’Souza and Prabhudeva left everyone asking for more. Sports legends Mahesh Bhupathi & Sania Mirza made the concert a heartwarming and enriching experience.

Funds will be utilised for:

Medical Infrastructure 

The funds raised will help to build critical oxygen infrastructure, by providing oxygen cylinders and concentrators across India. The funds would also be used to support genome sequencing in Mumbai to prevent the further spread of the virus. Funds raised from the campaign will also help set up isolation centers in Bangalore. Furthermore, the funds will also be used to set up Covid care facilities, ICU units, and  hospital infrastructure in rural areas of India such as  Baksa, Barpeta, Darrang, Dhubri, Goalpara, Sitamarhi, Pakur, Sahibganj, Barwani, Khandwa, Singrauli, Nandurbar, Baran, Sonbhadra

Lives and Livelihoods 

In addition, donations will provide meals and ration kits which will help sustain a family of 4 and give cash support to low-income families who have lost their sole earner to the virus. The funds will also be used to facilitate vaccinations among rural populations. Also, the retail funds raised through the campaign will help support humanitarian causes such as providing meals and rations, cash relief to families who have lost their breadwinner to Covid, and rescue and rehabilitation of orphans who have lost one or both parents to Covid
